Andre's Orlando Concert

I had a great time with my 'kids' for 10 days. I was there for my daughter's birthday (first time in 10 years) and they made the most wonderful crab legs for dinner. I swear I never saw such large ones and they were out of this world. I was also there for Easter, which was another enjoyable occasion.

And, of course, the highlight was the concert on April 20. The concert was a superb production and went too quickly. Andre' was at his best, making everyone so comfortable and his humor really stood out. To my surprise, he had the Die Platin Tenors with him. I just love them and was so happy to see and hear them in person. Carmen was not with them and they have a new singer (don't know her name). Susan did such a wonderful job on "Don't Cry for me, Argentina." The orchestra was in its prime and had several very funny acts, especially with the Anvil portrayal. There was also a kind of competition between Frank and the carillon and the marimba. It was really neat.

Andre Rieu

The only disappointment in the whole evening was the seats. You would think that ordering the tickets 5 months in advance that we would have excellent seats. I guess the biggest contributors to WMFE, the local PBS station got the prime seats. We were too far away to take any pictures, but because of the large TV screens, were able to see everything happening on the stage.

All in all, it was a delightful evening and at the last minute, my son was able to obtain another ticket, which happened to be in the same section as our original ones, so both my daughter and son were able to attend and we were able to sit together. (Sure is funny that the last ticket was $58 and the originals were $125 and we were in the same place!!!!!!)

I am looking forward to my trip to St. Paul, MN in October for the concert there. The tickets have already been purchased. I wonder if we will have better seats this next time??!!!!
