Andre Rieu in
Miniature
I saw André for the very first time in l997 in
Baden-Baden on TV, he was then still shy and good
looking and I was taken right away, but my mother was
dying and I forgot soon about him again. Then I saw him
advertised the same fall in Montréal, told my daughter
to get us tickets, but she waited too long and it was
then sold out. He came back in l998 in spring and we got
tickets for our birthdays. From that time on, my husband
and I were hooked and we never missed him here. I saw
him in Wetzlar 2OO1 in an Open Air Concert and in 2OO3
in Siegen and a few days later in Tuscany for 2
concerts, that was my nicest experience, because on TV
they showed only 2 hours but the concerts on each night
were 4 hours, even my daughter, who is no André fan, she
loved it. Ever since then we pledge on PBS for good
seats in Montréal, hope he keeps coming back here. I saw
him in New York (like you [Sally]), but I also visited a
school friend of mine, her house is actually on the
bonus CD, she lives in the Manhatten-Plaza. I also met
with Ellen Weber in New York, she came to visit me in
2OO4 with her friend, we had a good time.

My husband and I see André here in
Montréal, May 12th , then I fly to
Germany on May 16th, 2007, to see my kids and a
miniature show in Soest, one of the biggest in Europe. I used to book my
flights around an André Rieu Open-Air-Concert, but now I
want some minis. I made the JSO in miniature because I
am a miniaturist and I love to make dolls, so it was a
challenge for me to do the Orchestra. It took me l8
months to do it and I had the biggest success in our
show here with the music from André under the table. I
did not know that so many miniature friends are also
André fans and everybody was thrilled.
I sent pictures to PBS because I always pledge for
tickets there and the manager sent the pictures without
my knowledge to André with Paul Larson, who interviewed
André in Maastricht already twice. He gave André the
pictures and Andre sent me a photo album from himself with
greetings

This year I made a scene: CARNIVAL IN VENICE
with 4 musicians and 6 couples on the dance floor with
carnival masks and all are in different époque costumes.
One of the musicians is André in his Cortona costume; (I
was in Cortona with my daughter Jutta). I also made the
Viennese Boys Choir and lots of other stuff.
